华坪县儿童福利院院长张桂梅颁授勋章。

At 10 am, June 29, the "July 1 medal" awarding ceremony was held in the Great Hall of the People. Chinese president Xi Jinping presented medals to the 29 recipients in grand music. Zhang Guimei, the Party branch secretary and the founder of Huaping Girls' High School in Lijiang, Yunnan province, was one of them.

The July 1 Medal, the highest honor of the Party, was created this year to commend outstanding CPC members, workers on Party affairs and grassroots Party organizations nationwide.

张桂梅的事迹在海外也引发网友热议。

向献身中国教育事业的张桂梅表达了敬意：

张桂梅

依然是那件穿了很多年的旧衣服，

就是这样一位看上去很普通的老师，

而自己却身患多种疾病。
